Reflection

This was a great beginning course for setting my feet on the path to increasing my focus on Technology in Schools. I was a business teacher for 4 years prior to my current position of Technology/Curriculum Director. I, obviously, already understood the value of technology, but this course helped me to get the right perspective concerning technological resources. This course provided valuable resources of instructional design, such as the ADDIE model. This web site is one of many on the ADDIE model. As I stated in my reflection paper..."The main concept I gained from this course is that it isn't enough just to use technology because it is what others are doing or trying to keep up with the new advancements in technology by buying every new gadget that comes out. It must add value to the learning activity. In the past I believed technology was to be used to make the project easier to complete. This course has helped me understand its importance in the knowledge process, as well as, its value for making activities easier to complete. Educational technology is more than just the use of computers in a classroom. This course has deepened my understanding of the integration of technology and developed a desire for me to use technology to add value to learning activities."
