7378 Electronic Portfolio Development

*Description

Portfolios are excellent tools assessing student learning over an extended period, but keeping learning artifacts organized and accessible is a challenge. This course will introduce you to electronic portfolios - a digital solution to documenting student achievement in a standards-based curriculum. Website development experience and Instructor consent required.

Reflection

This course has taught me the importance of good recordkeeping. As I started to compile the information, I realized how vital it was that I saved all assignments to one location. The biggest challenge is determining what artifacts are the best to show that you have accomplished the task. Another challene is getting the information to display properly on the web site. Electronic portfolios are great because of being able to put links in for viewers to be able to discover the information you are trying to lead them too.
