Reflection
This course is designed to teach students basic
webpage design skills. Many people
in my class, including myself, had some experience designing websites with
templates. Many of us had never
created a website on our own, from scratch. I took this course during my first
semester, and it was quite a challenge!
The course involved a series of mini projects,
which helped us learn html and CSS coding gradually. The goal of these mini projects was to give us the tools we
needed to create a website from scratch.
I was excited by all of my projects, from the first mini project, to my
final website.
One
of the biggest challenges and thrills I encountered during this course was
validating my source code. When I
ran into errors with my code it was like a puzzle to solve. The support from some more experienced
students in the class, as well as from the Digital Zone staff was invaluable.
When
I completed this course, I truly had a sense of accomplishment. I had created a site for my students
and their families.
Over
the last eleven months since I took this course, I have used my skills to
update my class website and create online projects for my students. As I continue to grow and learn with
web development, I am excited by all of the possibilities.
