In-depth analysis of innovation development and adoption processes in

Reflection
Diffusion
of Education Innovations is a course that shows the process of how information
and technology are shared throughout a population. During this course, I learned that people could be
classified into many categories.
Each organization has at least on opinion leader. This is the person who is able to
connect on a personal level with the most people on a given staff. We also learned about people who are
early adopters, who begin an innovation early in the process, and laggards, who
are the last ones to participate in an innovation. During this course, I learned that I am an early adopter,
but also can be considered a change agent. A change agent is one who is instrumental in getting an
innovation started. This can be a difficult position to be in, however, I
believe it is one that is worthwhile.
Throughout
this course, we had some interesting discussions. I felt that the participants of this course really took the
work seriously and the discussion boards, especially surrounding the change
agents were insightful and thought provoking.
The
final project for Diffusion of Education Innovations was the Concerns Based
Adoption Model (CBAM). My project
was created using the topic "Using the Internet to Enhance Instruction". This course helped me to look at my
school in a new way. I learned to
look for signs to show people's roles in the school, and to respect the
differences of those roles.
