Of all of the courses in this amazing program, ISLT 7366, Technology Leadership in Schools, challenged me more than any other. Perhaps that's because I'm very confident in my role as an educational technology specialist as it relates to classroom practices and technology applications, but until now I have not been as secure in my expertise in relation to my district-wide planning role. The research and application of knowledge required to successfully complete the Computer Facilities Survey, Tech Policies Presentation, Technology Staffing, and Budget pieces as well as the Assistive Technology Case Study and Staff Development Plan have equipped me to better comprehend and fulfill all of my job responsibilities.

I have shared with our district’s technology director the wealth of useful online resources organized in the context of this course and the in-depth assignments that have been completed in this class. She was VERY excited and wants to utilize some of the resources/procedures to jump-start our technology committee which has been somewhat of a figurehead committee with no viable role in our district. So not only am I confident that I will be using products generated during this course to enhance my job performance, I also see that information gathered here could now serve as the catalyst to transform our technology committee into a productive entity.
