Reflection

The purpose of this course is to teach the creation of web-based digital media through developing an understanding of image software, video software, and scanners, digital cameras, digital video cameras, graphics tablets.

Digital media that can be used for creating images, audio and video for web delivery are studied during this course.  Creation of digital media artifacts is required using a variety of applications.  Learners must demonstrate an understanding of digital media copyright laws, and accepted design and usability standards.

In this course, I learned a variety of methods to create visual and auditory experiences for learners.  I demonstrated understanding of digital media by using Audacity for an audio project, Photoshop to edit and modify digital photos, and Windows Moviemaker for a video project.  I used Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash to publish my digital media to the web.

This course provided me the opportunity to focus concentrated periods of time on each type of digital media in order to deepen my understanding of its uses and capabilities.  This course was my introduction to Moviemaker, Photoshop and Audacity.  I have since used these applications in other projects for professional use.
