SAMPLES

Below are additional highlights and samples of my work and learning that did not appear in the competencies section.

WEBSITES

Below are additional websites that I have created using the knowledge gained from my Master's program in LSDD.

Special Education Service Agency

sesa website This website was created for my workplace, Special Education Service Agency. I did not code the site myself, but used a content management system, Joomla, to create the site. I used my skills about needs assessment to determine the needs, design to modify the site, and development to also modify as needed. This site also was a practice in compromising many people's needs and opinions. External Link

Alaska Disabled Veterans Sports Program

Alaska Disabled Veterans Sports Program This website is for the Alaska Disabled Veterans Sports Program (ADVSP). They had requested a portion of the site be a blog, which I integrated with wordpress.

J Medkeff: Photography

Jeff Medkeff Photography This was one of the first sites I did semi-professionally. The photographer, Jeff Medkeff, requested something simple yet elegant and professional. By using my design skills and knowlege of coding, together we created something that he felt represents his wonderful work. In the contact form we also implemented a simple "human test" as well as allow users to upload and email him an image. External Link

Basement Studios: Juneau, Alaska

Basement Studios This website is for a glass artist located in Juneau, Alaska. I created the flames with Photoshop and based the design on her requested needs: to inform people about what she does, and to look "funky yet professional". The gallery is a basic PHP loop running through images, and the site has a basic PHP contact form. External Link

M. Tal Studios

M. Tal Studios This photography website was created for a friend during the Visual Design class at MU. By using Photoshop, I was able to create more creative mockups and learn how to extend web design beyond the basics. Link

Ciccone Glass

Ciccone Glass This website is for a glass artist located in Anchorage, Alaska. She requested a site which was clean, organic, used the Papyrus font to match her cards, and used her fire logo. External Link

VIDEO

Going Through An Airport: A social script

"Going Through An Airport" is a video designed to help certain children with autism navigate the Anchorage airport, although it could also be used for more than just the Anchorage airport. The video was designed to be noisy and catch all the sights and sounds that a child may encounter. The main focus here was on going through security and practicing removing shoes, coats, and relinquishing bags. This video is currently up on the SESA.org website.

Special Education Service Agency video

This video was in partnership with another employee there at Special Education Service Agency. While he helped tape the interviews and create the music, I edited the video (something I have found to really enjoy). The video, although probably a bit too dark at the beginning, is to help show the need of the agency as well as what the agency can do to help support teachers of student with low incidence disabilities out in bush Alaska.

PRINT

The ANC Podcast

print 1print 1 Print is definitely not my strong suit, but these did give me some experience in making some flyers for a podcast promoting local musicians.
