WHY MU?

Picture of Krista in DenmarkI have received this question so many times: "Why the University of Missouri-Columbia?" Since I've answered that question many times, I thought I should answer it here, too. Around 2004 I decided I wanted to start formally learning, but I didn't want to just "take classes." I wanted it to be interesting. I had always been interested in technology and tried to incorporate it into my teaching and consulting, but always became frustrated with my limitations. I wanted to know more, do more, and be better at it. I got online and started looking at online programs around the country.

After six months of looking online at various universities, this program at the University of Missouri-Columbia was what I was looking for. It wasn't like other educational technology programs which focus on K-12 technology integration, it had a learning systems design and development track (all online), something that other universities did not have. Combined with reasonable tuition, I chose this program and have never regretted it.

THE CONTENTS

This portfolio represents some of the highlights of what I learned while in the Master's program at the University of Missouri, Columbia. It demonstrates the competencies gained by providing artifacts which demonstrate my acquisition of new knowlege and skill in the various areas.

All of the classes were through MU Direct since I was located in Alaska for almost the entire duration of this program. I feel very lucky to have found the program and have had such great success with it.
