Teachers demonstrate a sound understanding of technology operations and concepts. Teachers:

A. demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology (as described in the ISTE National Education Technology Standards for Students).

To demonstrate introductory knowledge and skills of technology and related comcepts, I use software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SMART Notebook, and Scholastic Management Suite daily to improve student learning. I use these programs to display notes, assess learning and track student progress throughout the year. In Introduction to Technology in Schools, I used Inspiration 6.0 to create a concept map, and updated this concept map at the end of degree my program. This concept map helps demonstrate my understanding of technology related concepts by showing how teaching, learning and technology relate to one another.

B. demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies.

This electronic portfolio showcases what I have learned and gained throughout my Master's degree program. By finishing this program and doing activities such as a CSS design page and concept map, I have demonstrated growth in technology knowledge. I have also attended the Successlink Handheld Conference and participated in an eMINTS refresher course(meeting agenda). During both of these professional development opportunities, I learned about current technologies availiable to the classroom and new strategies to use with the technologies I already have.
