Introduces statistical techniques employed in education, including descriptive statistics, correlation, simple regression and hypothesis testing. (3 credit hours)
Educational Statistics was certainly the most feared course in my program of study and I know that I was not alone in that fear. I can honestly say, however, that success in the course was not only attainable but the information was also very valuable. For instance, knowing that data are often reported or implied to have a causal relationship when in truth no causal relationship can be statistically proven is very important. Having the ability to critically analyze statistical reports allows me to make more informed decisions in my professional and personal life.
