My Portfolio Composition

This portfolio is the compilation of my program journey. I have always had an ease with using technologies and even selected Educational Technologies as one of my areas of concentration for my undergraduate degree earned in 1998. After completing those courses my interest were piqued. While continuing my education had always been my intention, I needed a break to determine what I really wanted to do “when I grew up”. I joined the workforce and found a niche of providing unofficial technical support and eventually I stepped into an Information Technology position in Information Technologies being responsible for providing educational technologies support to the College of Veterinary Medicine faculty and students. I enjoyed this but wanted to expand my capabilities and knowledge especially associated with instructional design and development of educational materials. After professional experience I had no doubt where I wanted to continue my education. After research I found the MU College of Education’s School of Information Science & Learning Technologies, which happens to be ranked in the top 10 nationally for online educational programs. The MEd in Learning Systems Design and Development was a good fit for me. Not only was the program completely online, but at my alma mater. Absolutely Perfect!

Future Endeavors

I hope to further develop in the position I hold at MU by applying my newly honed and acquired skills to the academic program I support. My experience in SISLT’s Project Management course has stimulated interest in continuing to demonstrate my skills and abilities through obtaining a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute . Afterwhich I’m not going to close the door on continuing my education through SISLT’s Information Science & Learning Technologies Doctoral Program.
